Over the last 12+ years my goal has been to bring high-quality, research backed training information to the masses.
We both know there is just too much nonsense out there in internet land to make heads or tails of what we should be doing in the gym everyday.

Strategic Athlete started as a way for me to share the information I craved when I was on active duty. I needed a no nonsense training program that would allow me to become the most well-rounded, physically fit, Marine I could be (i.e. Strong, fast, durable, mobile, fit, etc.).
Since leaving active duty in 2012, unsurprisingly, my life hasn’t gotten any less hectic. Which means I have even less time each week to dedicate to training – Something you can probably relate too.
I’ve also realized, thanks to constant education & commitment to better myself as a coach, that a ruthless focus on the fundamentals you can achieve some pretty big things physically. And it doesn’t take hours of training each day.
So everything you’ll find on this site is designed for regular people who just want to increase their overall fitness & quality of life – Over the long-term.
And building a large foundation of general physical preparedness is probably the #1 way to ensure your success when you need your fitness the most.
