Strategic Athlete publishes practical strength, conditioning, endurance, nutrition, recovery, and mindset guidance for tactical athletes and busy adults. This page explains who creates that material, how evidence is handled, and how to request a correction.
Authorship and experience
Articles identify their author and link to a visible background page. The current article library is written by PJ Newton, Strategic Athlete's founder, a former Marine captain and federal law enforcement agent with an MS in Kinesiology (Sports Conditioning) and more than 16 years of strength-and-conditioning experience. His full education, certifications, and coaching history appear on the About page.
Evidence and sourcing
Research-based claims should be supported by peer-reviewed research, official institutional guidance, or another clearly identified primary source. Sources may be linked at the relevant claim or listed in a Sources or References section. Practical coaching experience and personal observations are identified as such and are not presented as clinical evidence.
A citation does not make a claim permanent. Evidence changes, study populations may not match every reader, and reasonable experts can interpret the same findings differently. Articles aim to explain those limits when they materially affect the recommendation.
Publication and update dates
Every article shows its original publication date. When the content record includes a later update date, the article displays that date and its structured data uses the same value. Updates may cover text, sourcing, examples, structure, media, or links. Minor spelling and formatting corrections do not require a new update date.
Some legacy articles were refreshed in editorial batches. An “Updated” label identifies a recorded content change; it is not a claim that a physician or other medical professional reviewed the article.
Corrections
If you find a factual error, broken citation, outdated recommendation, or unclear commercial disclosure, please contact Strategic Athlete or email contact@strategicathlete.com. Include the article URL, the statement in question, and the source or context supporting the correction. Substantive corrections are made in the article and may trigger a new update date.
Training and health scope
Strategic Athlete content is educational and does not replace individualized medical diagnosis or treatment. Training carries risk, and pain, injury, medication, medical conditions, pregnancy, and significant dietary changes should be discussed with an appropriately qualified professional. Stop training and seek appropriate care when symptoms warrant it.
Commercial relationships
Strategic Athlete sells training programs and coaching. Articles may link to those services when relevant. The Resources page also contains clearly disclosed affiliate links; qualifying purchases may generate a commission without increasing the buyer's price. Commercial relationships do not change the sourcing standard described above.
